Manage Asthma in Monsoon With Useful Tips

The cool breeze that blows through the rainy season is often a source of joy for many but not all enjoy it. Those with asthma and respiratory-related allergies are at risk of worsening their condition due to lowering of temperature and rising humidity in the rainy season. Hence people with asthma and other respiratory-related illnesses should be careful when enjoying the season. Still, don't worry! To keep away your asthma problems, as caretaker for elderly in Mumbai we are listing some precautionary measures that you can easily incorporate during the monsoon so that you can enjoy rain like others.

Keep doors and windows closed during rain

Rainy days are breeding seasons for a variety of health problems. Therefore, it is always safe for you to keep your house doors and windows closed, especially in those areas such as the kitchen, laundry, or toilets. Doing so will help to reduce the spread of moisture in the air and also stops the mosquitoes from entering. In addition, for good ventilation you can use air conditioning.

Know What to Drink

During monsoon, days try to drink only warm water and drinks. Honey tea is a great way and so is the soup (veg, chicken, etc.). If you like masala teas, they are the best for rainy seasons. If you have an asthma problem, boil water with cumin seeds and inhale the smoke. This helps the bronchial muscle making it easy for you to inhale. Hot coffee and black tea help to open the bronchial muscles. Limit no more than three cups a day. Patients with asthma should not skip their medication

Take care of those Walls

Take all necessary steps to prevent walls in your home from getting dampened due to rainfall. When moisture is trapped in the walls it is not only bad for the building but also for your health. It leads to the formation of mold which can worsen your asthma symptoms or can cause asthma or other respiratory problems. As home attendant for elderly in Mumbai, we ask all our clients to clean all mold on walls using a mixture of bleach and water.
